Some of you have asked me in the past to explain how to post images on our forum. I finished the first part of a tutorial you can find at:

I hope it’s not too technical. Have fun ๐

Norb, Thank you so much for the excellent tutorial. Just trying to see if I have learned enough to do this.

This fat little guy was found in my herb garden. I hope he has become a beautiful butterfly by now. ๐

I would be glad to help anyone learn how to do this too. Click on my name and email me and I’ll send the instructions I have. I can forget how to email attachments since I don’t do them often, so send me your snail mail address. We could set up a phone call appointment convenient for different time zones and I’ll have you posting that day.
Sherry, if we have free time at symposium and there is a computer kiosk, I will show you.
OK guess Angelfire does not let us link to them or was it because of the size of the photo? HELP!! I see that the other link did not work either. Mine was a url to my website. I see the other one was a like to a photo that was on their computer? HELP! LOL:eek:
Yes, your picture was too big. You need to upload it to a free service like Flickr that offers you different size options. But that is going to be explained in my next tutorial. Another possibility is to reduce the size on your computer before uploading with a picture editing program. This is the way I usually do it.
I was able to retrieve your picture and upload it to Flickr.

You cannot link directly to images on your computer like you apparently tried to do. How to use pictures on your computer will be explained in my next tutorial. It will take me awhile to put it all together because of all the screen prints I’m doing. The first one took me an entire day. So please be patient.
Thanks Norb I will have to give it another try as that is what I thought I was doing. Is there only certain kind of sites you can link to? Is that where I go wrong? I am looking forward to lesson number 2!
Jan, I have not encountered any site that does not allow you to link to- but it’s possible. Why don’t you try something and post it here so I can see what it is you’re doing. -

Norb Thank you for your help! I hope to post a few photos in the future. I know now to make sure I check the size of the photo!
Liz Thank you for the offer, but I still would like to keep in touch with you and find out about your new location. Your going to miss the NY Winters!
Did you start a Halloween collection for us this year? If you need help with emailing attachments let me know!I enjoy the graphics as much as I enough reading everyones posts!
OK, but I think maybe it was the size issue. Do you happen to know what the limits are so I can ‘try to live within my means!” Of course today it works for me!
Not exactly. I try to make mine no more than 10″ wide and 100k or less. LadyKITs was 28″ and 1.2 M probably taken with a 6 or 8 Mpixel digital camera. Most images you find on the internet are fine unless it is one of your own uploaded in its original size. Flickr.com can help as I am about to explain. ๐ , -

OK Norb here goes! I think I did all the steps right. You are very good at tutorials. It was easy to follow. I took a picture of the cat this morning just to see how it would work. I just lost all my pictures that I had from the computer crashing last week. Hubby knows where they are but they aren’t where I can find them….anyway here is my “fat” cat Snickers

Jan I love Snickers! I know Norb has created a few monsters when he showed us how to post images. We are just not going to be here for just Halloween!

The Canada Geese are really starting to be plentiful in this area and they are taking over our rivers and lakes and small ponds. These are at home at our county park near my home! I spend an afternoon there just taking photos of the animals around the park.
Hope I got the size right this time Norb!
Thank you Norb you were right………found a good use for that EDIT button too! LOL

This is puzzling. You made the right change but Angelfire seems to prevent linking. When I paste the link into Internet Explorer I can get the photo fine. I copied it to my desktop and looked at it with Photoshop to see if there is anything weird about it. Looks OK.
The only way around it I can think of right now is to use my second tutorial.

I went to some other Angelfire websites and was able to post the pictures without problems as long as they were not too big. See example above. The link I used looks quite different from yours:
I also was not able to go to your website using kitsscrapbook.angelfire.com
Any thoughts?

This problem with Angelfire really has been bugging me a lot. So I did a few more experiments. I grabbed the URL from other Angelfire websites and posted it here. At first they look fine. But when I went back an hour later they were gone replaced by an Angelfire icon. I just created a quick web page (index.htm) with a link to your photo and uploaded it to my own website. Same problem. See http://www.ourbluemarble.us/forum/LadyKITUSA/index.htm
When I called up that same webpage file (index.htm) directly from my computer it works fine. See picture.
So this is obviously an Angelfire problem and in my opinion very intrusive. I would suggest you contact them and complain about it.

Got the new camera and it makes up for my old skills! Here is a photo we took of a local covered bridge. We went for a drive and an afternoon picnic! Just wanted to share! Thanks Norb!

I think it looks like a jigsaw puzzle, don’t you?

Hi Kitt! Very beautiful and yes it would make a neat puzzle picture on a new box. Those ones we used to buy and put together. It does remind me of that! But very beautiful! I loved seeing these bridges when I lived in PA. Saw alot of them around. North Carolina does not have them in my area and I really have not seen any around. I always thought they were very unique seeing them in PA! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Norb! You lived in PA too! Where bouts? I lived in between Boothyn and Aston, PA and Philadelphia region for almost 16 years. Back in the early 80’s. I loved it up there. The Brandywine Area. I’m going to have to pull out my recent photo’s and post them. Very beautiful place.
Me and my husband went out to dinner on an anniversary one time several years back. We went to Penn’s Landing. It was a ship restaurant called the Moshaloo! Very romantic dinner and very high in price but fun going too!
While sitting there I was looking at a guy sitting at a table close by and it was Rob Lowe! Ohh my gosh! I saw Rob Lowe. I always thought he was nice looking and admired his movies.
Don’t get me wrong but I do love my husband dearly. But my mouth dropped and I could not help but stare! LOL! On my wedding anniversary! I really felt bad but it was the first time I had ever seen a movie star in person. Then later on as years passed I saw others up there too. Saw Bruce Willis also. He looks better in the movies! LOL!
I have been to concerts in my younger days but they are Rock stars. Seeing a movie star was exciting. Never seen Brad Pitt! Drats! Hugs
