Kevin is getting a new port put in today.
Just wanted to send out thoughts & prayers to them.
Hoping Dawn calls me soon to let me know how it went.

Kevin was much more sore this time than the original port placement. I suspect it was because the old one was removed from tissue. The port itself is really different. It is a triangular shape, rounded at the edges with three raised bumps as a locator for the center. As well, based on the literature they provided, it seems to be a new type of port. It allows for rapid infussion of dyes when getting a CECT, a CT that allows you to quivkly inject the dye???? The literature packet that they provided is quite impressive, it came with a special alert tag to put on a keychain, a live strong type of band identifying the port and a registration card (recalls I would imagine).
