I want to say “Thanks” to Pat for coming to Rochester, NY this past weekend and to all who helped bring this community together to share information, ask questions and meet others who share the challenge of GBS/CIDP. I am so grateful to have met others in my community and especially another woman my age with CIDP. I have found that isolation is one of the hardest obstacles and just having another person to share with is as strong a medicine as those we take to manage this disease. I was really impressed by the level of education provided and was encouraged to help continue to educate the public by getting involved in some upcoming local events. I was also given a perspective that helped in my own treatment of CIDP and now feel better about the choices my doctor and I have made to control this. I also feel a sense of gratitude for all that I do have and the support that I receive to live as well as I do. Thanks again to the Foundation and to this forum for giving people a place to connect.
