I wanted to take a moment to say thanks to all of you for your support and info. I had another doctors appt today and I felt like I could actually talk to my dr and support my case with her, its really empowering! 🙂

I’m so lucky and blessed! I’m still doing okay, I’m able to work 4 days a week on my feet, I’m starting to be able to lift things, but since I’m not at 100% and still suffer from the heel cord tightness and leg pain she is going to give some maint. doses of ivig next week to try and kick start things to get even better.

I think one of the hardest things about this for me mentally is not having control and having it be so different for everybody, but being informed from everyone here really is an answer to my prayers!

      Thanks so much!

      Marjie

PS I did give her the symposium info too – hopefully she’ll attend, since she is in Chicago its not like its far for her!

I would like to echo your sentiments myself. I have found so much information on this site and it is always comforting to see you are not alone in your suffering. I cant seem to get my wife to join and start asking questions due to the fact she is a very proud and independent woman. She seems to almost want to suffer in silence, but every time I read something encouraging I am sure to print the post and take it upstairs to her to read. She has not started any treatment yet because we are waiting on one appointment with a specialist that was pointed out to me (from someone on this board) as a leading Dr in this field here in BC Canada. Our neurologist wants a consult with her before just to make sure he has crossed all his “T’s” and dotted all his “I’s”. It is nice to know that there could be a light at the end of the tunnel and it probably isn’t a train….heh.

      Again, my sincerest thanks

      Steve

She is the GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada support person for Vancouver.

She has been down this road herself and is now offering to help others. She is wonderful. I met her last month at the CIDP conference in Vancouver.
