Question about yellow hands

Ever since I’ve been out of hospital, the palms of my hands have a yellow tinge to them and in between the base of each finger (where the skin connects to the next finger) it is really yellow almost orange. Sometimes it’s very light and other times it’s very prominent. Does anyone know what this could be or has anyone else had this happen to them. I was thinking maybe it had to do with my body detoxing from the drugs. I’ve asked my GP and physio and they don’t have an answer. This has only happened to me post GBS. Any help appreciated.

NIKI,
I feel that this is probably not the right answer to your problem, but I had the yellow hands & feet while still in the hospital. My problem was dead skin from calluses. I worked construction and used my hands continuously in rough work along with being on my feet continuously. After being in the hospital for a few months all the calluses began to turn yellow and looked terrible. My wife would soak both hands and feet in warm water and literally scraped off this dead skin a little at a time. It took a long time to do this as, like a lot of GBS patients, my feet and hands were very sensitive to the touch.
As mentioned before, this is probably not your problem, but the mention of yellow hands brought back this memory. Hope you do find an answer.

THis is probably not the answer either…but here goes…. When one injests too much carotene (like in Carrots) it turns the palms of their hands orange. A friend fed her baby lots of baby food carrots and he turned orange. The doctor told her to look at the palms because that is where it starts. So too much Beta carotene or carrots. Could it be a toxic liver? JUst throwing some ideas out…..good luck
