This is in the Gold Country, in the Sierras – New Melones Lake is to the west; this is looking north over the San Diego Reservoir, with the old mining town of Columbia to the south.

[QUOTE=ConnorZmom]Ken, you always have the most beautiful pictures. I watched Bridges of Madison county yesterday morning…have you ever been there ?
Iowa isnt quite California…but, I’m sure you’d capture some beauty any place you went.

Thank you Stacey!Yes, I’ve been through Madison County!
And……yes, Iowa is not California…..and you should hope it stays that way!!
I attended Iowa Weslayan College in Mount Pleasant in 1962, and I’ll forever love Iowa…..cornfields and all…..not to mention that my wife was born in Emmettsburg! -

Thank you Jan!These forums prefer/require that posted photos not take up too much bandwidth, so they are reduced to 800 pixels wide….which is a bit small for Desktop Wallpaper. I use at least 1600 pixels wide for Wallpaper.
If you see a photo you want to use as Wallpaper, let me know and I can size one up for you and give you a link to it at my photo-site at Flickr.
To use any photo you see here, just Right-Click on it, then select either “Save As” and use it for Wallpaper, or “Set As Background” and it will become (temporarily) your Wallpaper.

Thanks Ken, not just for permission but also hints on how to do it as I am not a computer whiz. I know where the on/off switch is!!! But I am getting much better. Keep on snapping those photos. I love the outhouse and am going to add that to my computer….reminds me of days gone by.
