Someone once posted about a specific antidepressant that worked well with neurontin. I am having a heck of a time locating that post-

Would you be so kind as to repost that information?

      Thanks

You may have been thinking of Cymbalta. However I’m not sure it works as well as Neurontin, but it does help for the pain, just maybe not the most severe pain.

If you click on the word Search in the blue bar on top, and type in Cymbalta, you will get all the threads that have the word Cymbalta in them – the word Cymbalta will be highlighted in red in each post that has the word in it. By just looking through all the threads with Cymbalta in, you will be able to choose which ones you think may be more beneficial to you. I hope that helps.

They gave me Elavil, and Tofranil, both tricyclics (sp?). I preferred the latter since it didn’t cause the huge weight gain. These work on nerve/muscle pain to some degree.

i think it was cymbalta that i was looking for. i am asking for it not because my dad is in pain – the neurontin seems to be holding him alright. i am asking because he is terribly depressed, as you all can imagine, and we’re trying to get him an antidepressant. we mentioned it to his doctor, she agreed to get it for him, and it still has not been ordered. its extremely frustrating!
