      Favourites would be:

listening to the rain, whilst indoors

      Feeling the air afterwards

watching telly, reading a book, doing a jigsaw – anything where you decide it no use feeling guilty about not doing chores that have to wait for the rain to stop. Basically, something you have wanted to do for ages but felt guilty about and the rain provides the perfect moment.

      My favorites would be:

      1. Sit outside under a covered porch and listen to the rain

      2. Read a book

      3. Curl up infront of the fire with a cup of tea/glass of wine and my husband

My favorite craft was crewel or cross stitch embroidery, particularly large cross stitch. It will be a challenge* but I’d like to start again.

Does anyone know of a website selling cross stitch? I think these criteria would be the easiest:
      1. Preprinted with large, very large cross stitch
      2. As few colors as possible
      3. Anything else you can think of to simplify the process.

      Thanks very much,
      Marge

*My GBS was aysmetrical…left leg and right hand still have fairly severe residuals although I was and still am primarily right handed. Heavy-duty asthma meds exacerbate shaky hands.

marge, i just went to buy a cross stitch kit last friday, my first one in over 12 years. i also have a few problems and i found one that had the thread pre sorted and it is the stamped cross stitch, easier then counting and trying to stay focused on those small rows of numbers and spaces. my kit was under $9, at hobby lobby. they also have online ordering. i checked at michaels before going to hl, but they didn’t have what i found. i haven’t had time to start sewing yet but it is in a hoop and ready for me tomorrow. i get hl and michaels ads sent to me thru email. i also bought a pattern on ebay, but it was counted xstitch, the seller didn’t mention that though, maybe after i get this kit done i’ll work my eagle and flag up. take care, don’t over do it—-are you out of breathe from chasing all those cute ny guys?!;)

      When it rains:

      1.) Go to the mall/shop for a new outfit(s)

      2.) Get my hair done

3.) Do whatever Ben thinks we should do

Lay in bed and listen to the raindrops on the skylight.

Turn on a Nat King Cole CD and read the paper with a pot of tea.

Bundle up, hike down the hill to the local Bistro and get a hot spiced apple cider.

In Oregon you are going to get a t of rain. You better learn to enjoy it.

    • June 5, 2006 at 5:44 am

      1. Go to bed and listen to the rain

      2. Watch TV

      3. If its raining in the summer months, walk in the rain with my husband, its so romantic! If its cold which it normally is in the UK, stay in bed, that can be equally romantic if you know what I mean!!

In India, especially in our part of Maharashtra State, named Kokan Area, rains come seasonally (already started .. from June till mid October)…totally hilly area.. . plenty of rains… lot of beautiful waterfalls, small streams and greenery everywhere, sometimes the clouds at your finger tips . O! What a pleasant atmosphere, may be like heaven.

Preferences to .. just lay on bed… listen to the romantic songs on rains from old Hindi films observing the downpour and have a cup of hot tea …

On holidays ? go out.. get wet and enjoy with family… what else better than that?
