My dr said nothing shows myeloma in the bones ! He said he wasnt surprised but reassured. Finally, something that isnt bad news !
I still have to do the 24 hour protien urine test. We had a garage sale this passed weekend and I didnt get the chance to do the test accurately. The busy weekend set me back by Sunday. It took everything I had to move around and I really noticed my feet didnt want to move like they should. Seems like I am losing my balance a little more often, too. When I walk up the stairs my body wants to lean to the left and nearly every time I go upstairs at home, I lose my balance a bit. Why is that.
I had to go to a wake service last evening and it was rough getting the energy to go, but I did it. I sure push myself. Somedays I can barely get out of bed but I know that I have to. I cant lose my job. I cant stay in bed either. I hide my fatigue pretty well but somedays, I just want to scream and say, “let me rest!”. Yesterday was one of those days. I felt bad b/c my hubby was vaccuuming and cleaning the kitchen floor. I am so not one to sit and watch. I appreciate the help but feel very guilty even to ask for it.
He is working alot of overtime right now and I feel bad b/c I know he is tired, too.
My big toe on the right foot is completely gone now…as in, I cant move it at all and it’s leaning to the side. It’s like someone with a bad bunion, the way the toe leans to the other toes. My left foot seems about the same. I can wiggle toes minimally and have very little movement with the big toe. The two toes next to the baby toe are curling like what seems to be more each day. So much for my pretty feet. With the exhaustion yesterday, it felt like drop foot on the right…I’ve had it slightly on the left for a while now…and with certain shoes, it’s pretty bad. I dont want it moving to the right. I wonder if that is common, too.Has anyone had the 24 hour urine test done ? I did have the serum electropherisis test…that showed the hypoalbuminemia.
Time to get some laundry done and then get my son in the bath and get ready for tomorrow. Maybe, I’ll get time to watch all of the bachelor tonite.
Cheesy, I know. 🙂Just wanted to share the results and hoping someone can tell me a little more about the urine test. I feel like he might be testing for MGUS.
have a great week everyone.

Dell had the 24 hour urine. Since he’s not potty trained, they had to do a catherater. I can’t stand seeing him go through that. I can’t remember what the urine test showed, I don’t think it was anything that mattered. I’m pretty sure it was all negative.
I know that you are so releived about the myeloma, so am I.

Stacey, thats great news about the myeloma test, you must be soo relieved. the urine test isn’t all that bad. it can tell alot about what might be going on. it shows any toxic metal levels, purpora(i think that is what its called) and it can show other organ problems, along with the usual sugar, blood, protein, infections ect. i’ve had to do it a few times, its easier in the hospital though:rolleyes: hope everything comes out ok.:)

ONE BIG RELIEF! To have one less problem on your plate, especially that kind is wonderful.
Urine tests, nothing to it. You should follow directions to the letter…just be sure you ask for and get test results sent to you as well. Do a web search for 24-hour urine tests…and you will probably find out more than you ever wanted to know about it!
My last test, I wasn’t given one of those ‘collector hats’ that fit into the commode…I was told to use ‘Solo Cups’…I went “HUH?” Response was: “those big colored party cups”. Well, they worked. Of course it was a guy telling me a girl to do it that way… for some it is easier than others, I think. At least it’s one test that doesn’t require lots of ‘needles’.
Lori – I’m just hurting on behalf of Dell. I hope that doesn’t have to be done again anytime soon.
