Mute toes?

Neurologist report says something like toes mute.
What does that mean? He did a ***** test,:confused: swab wipe -

Do you have any movement or feeling in your toes?
Perhaps that is what he is refering to?

Mute toes just means less/no sensitivity in the toes when he is testing them i.e. pin ***** test, up and down movement of the big toe. I’m not sure what the swab test would have been–perhaps the cotton ball test for sensitivity too.
