help with dosing please

      went for treatment today for ivig and was given 5gm/50ml run at 2mg/kg/min, i weight 185, is this about right for every 8 weeks

      sorry, no time to do the microgram conversion, but at 185lbs, a loading dose (2g/kg) would be 168 grams of ivig total. 8 weeks is past the 6 week full life of a loading dose. But your particular situation may be able to go past 6 weeks. Do you feel symptoms before the next infussion, if so, they need to be closer together

      There is some discussion between dosing IVIG based on actual body weight & ideal body weight.

      The pharmacy we get my daughter’s IVIG from & her neuro all dose based on actual weight. Dosing by ideal body weight is a recently new concept. I’m not sure how many dr’s are following it yet.
