Any one have any good recommendation for a good Neurologist in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts? I don’t feel like my current neurologist or PC are hearing me, or taking many of my symptoms seriously enough I am progressively getting worse, numbness/tingling/ shooting/buring ……in a lot of pain, losing ability to walk normally, and having major breathing issues.I have been on Prednisone, Gabapentin, Amitriptyline and I have done one 5 day course of IVIG, with no improvement so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t have a good doctor for you but do have good advice. If you are not happy, go see another doctor. Grab your insurance booklet and check all neurologist taking on new patients and make an appt. with every single one until you find the one that gets it and gets you! It took me 6 years and countless doctor’s within a 120 miles from my house! It is very frustrating and an uneeded evil, but unfortunatly with all you have on your plate right now, you are going to have to add this to it! Be your advocate! If you are working, request FMLA time and take advantage of any short term disability the company offers and GO TO YOUR APPOINTMENTS! If no short term disability is allotted, put in the request for FMLA and let H.R. know that you will need to come in late or leave early e few days a week until you find your doctor. It will secure your job legally until you find the doctor you click with. Remember, this is a long road, you are not going in for a yearly check up, you are going to see if this is the professional that you feel has your best in mind. It is a relationship. Treat it as one. Wiegh out everyone’s pro’s and cons and by all means: Keep a copy of every single record!
Good luck to you! -
