I was reading on Science Daily 8/21 (also on Nature Immunology) about researchers at University of Penn along with researchers from Amgen and NIH working in unison that they discovered a Cytokine known as IL-27 that is responsible for regulating the helper and killer T-cells so basically this is the on/off switch to autoimmunity they stated. So the researchers are now going to target this Cytokine IL-27 in future clinical study’s/trials to see if it can be effective in slowing or stopping autoimmune diseases.Anyway there’s more to the story buts thats the main theme of the article and wanted to pass that along to those interested…..
