Concert to benefit Battle Creek Central student
Three local bands and a community of friends will host “Daniel’s Courage Benefit Concert and Silent Auction” at 8 p.m. Thursday at B.C. Sound Venue to help a Battle Creek Central High School student recently stricken with Guillian Barre Syndrome.

Daniel Lonchar, 16, was suddenly stricken with the condition in April and is currently receiving therapy in Grand Rapids. He remains in a wheelchair.

The $5 cover charge and proceeds from a raffle and silent auction will help offset Lonchar’s medical expenses.

Guillan Barre is a rare medical condition that affects 1 in 100,000. Most patients with the condition, about two-thirds, recover within one or more years.
