Lately I have been extreme feet pain. I take Cymbalta. I have also been puting capzasin HP cream on my feet at night. When it is really bad I take Hydrocodone but try not to because it is addictive. Have any of you had this kind of pain? What do you do for it? Is there any thing else I can do?

hi, sorry it took so long to respond. Yes I had extreme feet pain when I first had the GBS and it continued for about six months. It hurt so bad I couldn’t stand to put weight on my feet. Neurontin definitely has helped that problem. Make sure your doctor is giving you a pain medicine that is appropriate for GBS.
Good luck and be well.

Kinney,
Neurontin has helped big time. It takes a couple of weeks to kick in.
Have you tried hot water bottle or heat packs? They also help me.
Sometimes when someone rubs them it helps as well but sometimes it hurts too much.Hang in there and ask your Doc about Neurontin.

I take Lyrica, makes me less tired then Neurontin and seems to work better at a much lower dose. Each of us seems to react different to Neurontin/Lyrica etc but you should ask your Dr. about it. If he wants you to stay on Neurontin it took me as high as 4200mg/day for relief. I take 1800mg/day Lyrica for better results and little if any side effects. The narcotic painkillers wont touch Neuropathic pain, although they may make you not care about the pain 🙂

hi jerimy,
UR right, for some neurontin is best. for others it is lyrica. do you know what is the max dose/day of lyrica? i’m curious how these figures of 4200 & 1800 compare. the recommended max for neurontin is 3600, although we know the practical limit is 5600. also do you know the $ for each? i’m thinking the generic neurontin. take care. be well.
