Emily had her usual 20 grams of Gammaguard infused yesterday. Her vitals were perfectly normal throughout the whole treatment. But right at the end of it I noticed that her cheeks were really red & she had a slight fever of 99.5. The red cheeks & low grade temp have never happened before.
I gave her more Motrin & Benadryl & she pretty much went right to bed. She was perfectly fine this morning & had a good day.
So now I’m wondering if I should request that she not be given that same batch again.
Anyone ever have red cheeks after IVIG?
Thanks.
Kelly
I have had flu like symptoms but can’t say that I ever took my temp to see if it was elevated. My remedy was just take my tylenol and crawl back in bed and sleep it off. My family named it the “Hibernation.” Sorry I can’t be more help. Glad to hear Emily is doing OK today.
