If you are in Southeastern NH and would not consider Boston too far- Dr Kenneth Gorson at St. Elizabeths Hospital is well know for his treatment of CIDP. I saw him originally when diagnosed with CIDP and continue now with him with my revised diagnosis of POEMS- He is VERY Good.

Again, if you do not consider Boston too far, there are probably very good neuromuscular specialists at any of the major hospitals downtown. I see Dr. Anthony Amato at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he is director of the Neuromuscular Program. He is also the author of one of the standard textbooks in Neuromuscular Disorders, and is quite personable as well as knowledgeable.

I see Dr. Jeffery Cohen up at Dartmouth. I found him on the CIDP website and have been very happy with him and extremely happy with Dartmouth in general.

Good luck with your search. Dr. Amato at Brigham and Woman’s was my next pick but I didn’t want to deal with the Boston traffic.

I think Gorson was at the last symposium. Her was young and had lots of ideas. If I had to pick one of
the doctors at the symposium in Chicago, I would have picked him–tim–

Not surprised you saw him there- Last I knew he was on the board of teh GBS/CIDP Foundation sponsoring this forum. If you Google him will mind numerous articles written by or about him. I have seen him as a consult to my primary Neurologist since Jan of 08- again – very happy with him.
