Cold weather affecting chestport

I know humidity, heat and cold can affect my titanium chest port. Metal contracts and expands according to the weather. This has been an extremely cold winter. The chest port area is painful and achy–causing difficulty sleeping. The worst is the catheters around my neck area are tender and feel like they’re throbbing. I find holding my hand gently against my neck area tends to make it feel a little better. There’s been no trouble having it accessed for recent infusions.

Have many of you been having similar problems??

I have considered putting a tiny heater on my port (just a fleeting thought).

Emily has never complained of that before. I’ve never even heard of it. You might want to call your surgeon who put it in & see if they have any suggestions.
