Hai every body…………..This is an idea from my side……….so many people in the world are not aware of GBS and the related problems……………some governments are trying to give the qwareness in their respected places…..still i think somebody should take insiate and do the awarness programme. i have an idea………………like recently we are using internet as an module to pass the news, why cant we use this. This works like this…….., one of us should give the total information about GBS and give the link of gbsfi and ask every one to pass the same to their friends for the awarness……….may be this works. What do you all say…………..

a good idea. there are several gbs personal websites already in existence. perhaps we could start an email giving a paragraph about gbs & then list the links to gbsfi & other personal gbs websites. i know this would be another chain email, but it is does reach out to many. take care. be well.

I am trying to get the word out to newspapers, tv shows (so far, no one wants to listen to me. ie, oprah etc etc) I had a friend the other week tell me there was just an article about it in a women’s magazine, but I have yet to locate which magazine it was, she could not remember herself. I am going to keep sending out my story to media. Someone will listen!!

I think the only way we will be able to get it more known is to present it like they do in advertising and government. They give it a slogan that catches your attention. I stopped trying to explain it and compare it to something that people know. Maybe a new slogan like: “Guillain-Barre: a lot like polio only you are more likely to get it.” Don’t you think that would get people’s attention? I am sure there are more creative people on this site than me that could come up with a saying that will get people involved. Once you have that, the newspapers and tv will be more likely to look into it. Just a thought……..

there is a woman back in san diego ca that was doing articles on how dirty our beaches were….my GBS started after getting cut at one of those beaches! I wonder if contacting her might pique some interest?? I can look up the article online and see what I can do.

WOOOHOO!! I signed off and contacted the writer of the articles and he took interest in my story and info. I will be emailing him info about GBS and he is going to look into the possibility of other cases that occured after beach visits and so on. If anything, this may raise interest and awareness of GBS. He had never heard of it either…of course…but he is interested in learning more and has some friends in the health dept who can help with research.
