Well I just to post this, because I have been plagued for the last couple of months, by Neuropathy Pain. It has made me so miserable I don’t even want to go out, If you ever get out in the cold. Don’t do what I did in 1998, we had a bad snow that winter here. I stayed out on the tractor trying to keep the snow, plowed off the road.

I got severe frostbite not only on my fingers, but also on my toes. Now 8 yrs later I have severe neuropathy pain, my fingers keep getting numb as well as my toes. In fact my feet just hurt all the time, they burn, I get cramps. Lately my feet have been swelling, this is making me one miserable person. I’ve also gotten very bad cramps in my fingers, especially while driving.:(

If I had to do it all over again, I’d have stayed in the house that night. Like I haven’t had enough problems in the last 6 mnths, now this. 😡 You know I feel like crawling off in a deep dark hole somewhere. Nothing but Miserable as of Late. -

Terry,
I am so sorry for your pain, & I know the holidays must have been tough for you without your wife. We live in northern MN where -20 degrees F is not all that uncommon (that is without the wind chill.) My husband worked for Inland Steel for 30 years, just retiring a year ago. The last 5 years my husband worked, he had bid out of the plant where he had a great job, but wanted off of shift work. He accepted a job on the blast crew where he worked outside all of the time laying patterns. He did wear heaters in his boots & gloves, but had to wear the kind of gloves where the ends are cut off. Needless to say, now he gets very numb fingers when he has to go snowblowing or shoveling outside. They also get numb, tingly & painful, but it does go away.My 28 year old son has also frozen his hands from snowmobiling & they are numb a lot. Have you thought of trying neurontin for the painful neuropathy? The only problem is that it must be taken on a regular basis…

Here’s the funny thing Pam, I had a full rx of 800 mg Gabapentin here. That was one of Debbie’s meds, well the coroner came in & asked for all her prescriptions she was on. I had no thoughts about this at the time, so that one along with all the others were taken by the county coroner. Now I wish I had kept it, had I been bothered by the neuropathy then. I would have kept it maybe I’d have only given him a few pills of it. That’s one of those situtions, you don’t consider at the time.
