Two Pregnancies Post GBS

I had two relatively easy deliveries and healthy children post GBS. I actually felt great throughout the first pregnancy. I wear short leg braces (AFOs) and my balance was a bit iffy but I only had one fall. Knocked over by my step son’s young German shepherd – no ill effects from that thank goodness. The second time around I had back problems and a bad sinus infection. The fact that it was so long after my bout with GBS (more than a decade) was probably a plus. I wasn’t on any meds and had no flare ups.

I like to think that growing up with a “disabled” mother made my kids more compassionate. The great thing is that my son is a martial arts instructor. He and his wife do quite a bit of work with teaching the elderly tai chi.
