I could be a CIDP expert. I had to do a powerpoint at school and that is what I did it on. I used to be on the computer at night researching after my husband went to bed. In my opinion the health care industry does not know enough about this illness to recognize it. When they do discover it like they did in my husbands case they have had it for a while and treatment is of the essence. I really think his turn into Lou Ghergigs and he did not tell me because he never let me go to the room with him at the neurologist office.

My extern site is a pediatrician office. We saw lots of precious babies from all different races. I do not know why but it was rewarding seeing all those little angels. Today I just observed. I will probably not do the hands on until next week. My husband loved little babies. I think he would find it rewarding that I am training with a pediatrician. I will only be there for a month. They are hiring another pediatrician in October so hopefully I can make this a permanent job. It is very close to my house only 1.5 miles. Thank you all so much for giving me the confidence I needed to go back to school.

It did take a lot of hard work and drive. No TV except my soap opera that I would record. There were times that I would be in class and start crying and the teachers would excuse me. One class we were on the nervous system and I was the only one in the class that knew what the myelin sheeth was and I was remembering how my husband suffered with CIDP. I was crying so much the teacher excused me to go the bathroom. I came back to class and she said it is ok to cry this was in February. He had only been gone for 3 months. Another class we were discussing medical abbreviations and DNR was brought up do not rescusitate. I was remembering the morning my husband passed and the Dr. came in the room and told me he had a DNR order. I had to get excused from that class also. One of the students came in the bathroom and checked on me and I told her she prayed with me and it made me feel better. The other time was my birthday . May 4th. My husband always made me feel special on my birthday I was depressed all day. I made a 76 on test and I could not understand why. The teacher even asked my what I happened, I told her I was depressed. My grade went down from a 99 to a 91. I did extra credit and finished with a 98 in her class. Strange coincidence I will be starting my extern site tommorrow and that would have been my husbands 54th birthday. I will let everyone know how my first day goes.
