Reply To: Severe Hand Pains

First I am sorry to hear that your mom came down with this. I am 24 years old, and was diagnosed with GBS in Oct 2011, and I still have extreme pain and weakness. Not to say that your mom will have this severe pain as long, for every person’s recovery is different. I can say that I did not experience extreme hand pains in the beginning stages of this. I have experienced extreme hand pain recently in the past 3 or so months, and have been seeing a rheumatologist as well as a neurologist. I had to get an ultrasound on my hands and there is fluid build up; it is a symptom of GBS they said-some people have pain in other places that other people don’t. I would recommend that she sees a rheumatologist if the pain continues to worsen. I pray that she will be on a quick road to recovery! It will be a year for me this Oct, but I am grateful to be alive! Just continue to be positive, uplifting, and helpful during this time 🙂
