Never did it with pizza, but we’ve done regular pies that way for years.
Have you all tried “grilled pizza”? Brush olive oil on a pre made pizza crust.
Grill both sides on the grill for just a minute or two. Then add your favorites beginning with a good sauce, onions, olives, peppers, etc. If you are doing meat such as sausage, brown it first (obviously). Return pizza to grill and top with cheese. When cheese is good and melted, enjoy! Works best on low heat, and if you have a grill pan, like the kind you do veggies on.
Gives the pizza a grilled flavor and you can customize it.
