Ohh yes!

Ohh yes! I have been a long term prednisone user. Was on 1000 mgs of prednisone several years back. Coming off that dose was something else. Was fine until it dropped to 40 mgs. Was on 5 mgs and now as of tonight 20mgs again. I have been on prednisone since 1993. Up and down doses.
By my experience on this drug. It’s like the prednisone is keeping the inflammation controled. If you are still flaring up while dropping the dosage then you may need to raise the dosage.
Also when a dose is getting weaned you can have side effects. Withdraw from the drug also making you feel the way you are. Talking to the doctor would be a good thing to do.He may have to watch you and see which one is the trigger point here. Either way you need to be checked. The weaning too much of a dose might be too much for your body to handle so a slower weaning might have to be done with raising the prednisone to where you feel better. Hope this helped some! Now I am off to bed. Almost 4 in the morning for me and now getting doofy! Hugs1

Ohh yes! Right after my third child I had my tubes tied. They used metal clips instead of the old procedure they used to do. I kept telling the doctors that I felt like my body was trying to reject the clips and wanted them removed. But my insurance company refused doing a reversal and the cost back then I could not afford. I had major problems after that procedure. It later landed me to have a total hysterectomy. Kind of funny but after they got removed I noticed an improvement. So it is quite possible. My mother had cataract surgery and now has implants in both eyes. She now has to take steroid drops on a constant basis because her blood vessels get inflammed in the eye causing pain. So rejection with auto immune diseases I believe can happen!

Ohh yes! I get this way alot. Cognitive disfunction. It’s a symptom of a disease process. Seen alot in Lupus patients and MS patients along with other disease.
I smoke and yes! I should not be smoking, but my nerves are bad from dealing with my illness. But am trying my best to quit.
I went one day and had my ash tray in my hand with a burning cigarette. Opened up the refrigerator and laid the ash tray there to grab my soda and lost my cigarette and ashtray. I scrummbled the house looking for it to find it no where in site. Then I later found it!
Called my mother one day and she has had the same number for years. Then one day I forgot the number. Could not think straight. Sometimes I am a perfect speller to suddenly not be able to spell. And my writing gets lazy looking.
Cognitive disfunction can cause alot of things for people with illness. It is not deadly but just annoying more than anything else!

Ohh yes! I have been telling them about my sleeping problem. They placed me on Cymbalta and that kept me up 3 days. Now Effexor and that makes my numbness worse. What’s up with these weird side effects in the new medications. I have trouble taking them.
My medication I am on now works and puts me to sleep. But after 5 hours it wears off and I am up like a bomb exploded. It does it every single night. Last night I actually slept though. Probably because of 3 restless nights. So the exhaustion took over.
