i had a kidney stone and was told i could not have IVIG until my urologist cleared me. Now the stone is gone and i am waiting on medicare approval.
I am getting frustated that this is taking so long. I am in touch with my neurologist i am supposed to have IVIG 3 x a week for 3 months.(8 hours a day) I have visited the infusion center and am contact with the infusion nurse. I guess we are just waiting on medicare. does anybody know if this is normal procedure.

Just a short note. While living in Ohio before moving to Ten. is when my stone was broken up. Afterwards the doc always did a 24 hour urine test and a kub(exray of that area) plus I was on triamterene Hctz/caps to keep me from getting anymore stones. Upson moving to Tn. family doc did not think I needed a nuerologist as he would just say SO WHAT THAT YOU HAD A KINDEY STONE.
I went anyway and they must be in cahoots as he said quit taking that medicine and just drink plenty of water which I already do. Well…..that pill also was used for blood pressure which I did not know and was never told mine was high as that pill kept it down. Well my headaches started all day and night for at least a month or more before someone took my blood pressure and it was over 200/ and over 100 for the bottom figure. Then my husband contracted shingles (probably from stress as our builder was never around to check on the house(that is another story) and never even asked if my pressure pill was working he gave me almost 3 months ago so we quit him and have a new doc who is wonderful.

Long story short we still do not know if the pill was needed or not but I am on it again plus 2 other blood pressure pills per cardiologist and no urologist. I drink lots of water and do understand that cranberry juice is good for it too. . I still have one stone left that I know of and so far I am ok. It has been about 8 years now.
