Have you had symptons between flare ups?? I have chronic GBS or it is called CIPD. I have a flare up once or twice a yr since i was diagnosed in 98. I was back to where i couldnt even stand up on my own out of a lift chair. Someone had to pick me up again. But my flare ups are usually not that bad. I notice weekness in the other flare ups and drop feet ๐Ÿ™ but i keep plugging along. I have permanent nerve dammage from the first time i was dianosed with GBS. So keep your head up and keep reaching for the stars ๐Ÿ™‚

GBS again?

After 33 years I really doubt that your GBS is reocurring, I would guess that it is a residual of having the surgery done on your hands so many years ago. When we originally recover, sometimes our nerves reroute to gain back function; because of this, they are never really as strong as they once were before GBS. Have you been using them more than normal? Make sure to tell the doctor all about the hand surgery you had years ago, & not focus so much on the fear of a reocurrance of GBS…

GBS again

I had GBS in 1989 and in 1994, I got food poisoning on a cruise. I got very weak and was worried I had GBS again. I went to my neurologist and he tested my reflexes and told me no, you do not have it. You would have no reflexes if you did. I had to get IV fluids and was off work for a month. I had three antibiotics and I believe they made me worse. Dehydration can really make you weak. Hope you feel better.
