4th of July…

We had a wonderful 4th of July here in northern MN, thanks for asking. The temps were in the upper 70s, just perf, with a beautiful clear blue sky. We drove about half an hour to my uncle’s lake cabin where we enjoyed the day with about 75-100 relatives from my mother’s side. Everyone brings something to eat, so the food choices are out of this world. Most people in MN do spend the 4th at some lake as we have at least 12,000 of them. The younger people were swimming & being pulled around on a tube by a big boat.

I made sure to get my 12 hours of sleep last night & had the best time. Both of my siblings were there, as well as all 3 of my children & my grandson; a first since 2003… Just got back from watching our city’s fireworks at the end of my street, what a great way to cap off a wonderful day. Tomorrow we will spend the day at my sister-in-law’s mother’s lake home 15 miles away, just about 20 of us. It is supposed to be 85 degrees, so maybe I will even go swimming, as I haven’t been in a lake yet this year.
