Please be aware the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has informed the public that use of the diabetes medication Actos (Pioglitazone) for more than one year may be associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer.

Pioglitazone can be used to treat Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) and there is a Clinical Trial still open for it. The trial has not been updated since 2016 and is either still awaiting results or abandoned. However, the lead Dr. overseeing the trial has published a recent paper with some results. There are no Clinical Trials using Pioglitazone to treat CIDP/GBS.
